A documentary uncovering the remarkable story behind Hamilton Gardens.

Once a city rubbish dump, the Gardens have transformed into a globally recognised “museum of humanity,” showcasing garden design from ancient Egypt and Song Dynasty China to the Italian Renaissance — and even imagined sustainable futures. Masterminded by visionary designer Peter Sergel, it’s a uniquely New Zealand story of creativity, ambition and spaces designed to delight and inspire.

Anyone who is 65 years or older and has commented on the giveaway post prior to 9th February 2026 is eligible .

Entries close at 12pm 10th April 2026.

The winners will then be contacted via Facebook comment, requesting them to send their name and address through to a secure email address so we can send the tickets in the mail. Please do not provide any other personal information.

If, on the rare occasion, your tickets do not arrive by mail we are unable to provide a replacement prize.

It is the winner’s responsibility to find a cinema near to them to redeem your tickets.
